                      prices rise but no change in consumption trends
                      
                      Shell prices have gone up and Laugfs is complaining that 
                      its application is being delayed while the Consumer Affairs 
                      Authority is having a major clash on its hands with a growing 
                      dispute between its chairman and director general. Whether 
                      Laugfs gets its increase remains to be seen. On the other 
                      hand the rising prices are unlikely to see a drop in consumption 
                      of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) as it impacts only on less 
                      than 15 percent of Sri Lankan households. Here a woman prepares
