Ananda AC Relay Championship 2005
Ananda and Rainbow AC come on top

Ananda Aquatic Club and Rainbow Aquatic Club emerged champions at the inaugural Relay Championship 2005 organized by the Ananda Aquatic Club which was held at the Ananda College swimming pool in Ananda Mawatha.
The relay championship began yesterday morning with over 500 participating from nearly 20 schools and clubs around the island. 24 events were worked off for the day comprising 12 medley relay 12 free style relay events which was closely contested in all age groups from under 10 to under 19 and the open events.

In the men’s category Ananda AC came on top with 204 points followed by Rainbow AC 99 and Otters AC 88 with Dharmasoka AC and St Peter’s coming in fourth and fifth. In the women’s category Rainbow AC accumulated 148 points followed by Ananda AC 136 and Otters AC 127 with Hillwood Kandy and Methodist Colombo in fourth and fifth.

In the boy’s events Ananda College swept the board by winning both the junior and senior categories. In the junior category Ananda came on top with 129 points with Otters AC second 54 and St Peter’s third with 53 points. In the senior category Ananda got 75 points, Dharmasoka 54 and Rainbow AC 49.
In the girl’s events Ananda AC won the junior category securing 136 points to Rainbow AC’s 120 and Hillwood’s 61 while Otters AC won the senior category securing 68 points to Hillwood’s 40 and Rainbow AC’s 28.
