Adel Hashim to act for late Mirando

Adel Hashim will function as the acting secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket till a firm decision is taken shortly. Speaking to The Sunday Times Adel Hashim the former Ananda and CCC batsman said “I will function as the acting secretary of the Board till some one will be nominated by the Interim Committee and sent for approval of the minister.

However it will not happen next week as President Jayantha Dharmadasa had to leave for Australia to attend the ICC meeting.”

Jayantha Dharmadasa left the island yesterday. Regarding this the acting secretary further added “Jayantha was very upset that he will miss-out the funeral of Tryphon Mirando. But, as there were several important decisions regarding Sri Lanka’s future cricket were to be taken at the meeting, he was forced to leave.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka cricket captain Marvan Atapattu too is scheduled to leave for Australia to attend the ICC captains meeting” he said in conclusion.
