Dhanapala on visit to Jaffna
Peace secretariat Chief Jayantha Dhanapala will visit Jaffna tomorrow for talks with government officials, security forces chiefs and representatives of humanitarian agencies.

Making his first visit to Jaffna after his appointment to the post in June, Mr. Dhanapala said it was essentially a familiarization trip. But it also coincides with reports that the government is drafting fresh proposals to be submitted to the LTTE for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the North and East. Mr. Dhanapala confirmed that a team of lawyers were working on the new proposals.
