Sriyani thanks Canadians for help
‘Thusharaye Chaya’ (Shadows in the snow) is a joint effort by Sri Lanka and Canada directed by Sriyani Amarasena. This veteran actress and teledrama director is now busy getting the film put in shape.

Sriyani is involved along with Vijith and Merlyn Jayasooriya of Toronto in Canada in the production of her latest venture. She returned home recently after a month of successful filming. Sriyani is appreciative of the support given her by everyone in Canada and specially to the Sri Lankan Consul General in Toronto Mr. C.S. Poologasingham, his wife and children. Mr. Poologasingham an ardent lover of art has gone out of his way as a diplomat to help the project to succeed, Sriyani and Vijith said gratefully.

‘Thusharaye Chaya’ has a cast of local and Canadian actors including rising stars Harsha Bulathsinghala and Nilanthi Dias from Colombo and veterans- like Ajith Jinadasa and Leena De Silva from Canada.

Others in the drama are Wasanthi Gunaratne, Kanchana Kodituwakke, Sandun Wijesiri, Grace Ariyavimal, Nirosha Herath, Nuwangi Liyanage and Sathya Ratnayake.

Sam Perera handled the make-up Chaminda Hewawasam worked as art director and Somadasa Maldeniya assisted Sriyani in the play. Screenplay was written by Thilak Kudahetti while Jagath Weeratunge did the editing. Musical score is by Sarath Wickrema.
