'A Kid in Aladdin's Court': Family movie at MC
A fantasy magical and family movie "A Kid in Aladdin's Court" for the holiday season will be screened from November 22 at the Majestic City.

The movie takes the audience back in time to the 8th century Baghdad. As fate would have it, Calvin Fullergets mistaken for the heroic "Deliverer" by Aladdin's wise cracking Genie, who magically whisks him back in time to straighten things out. What the impatient Genie doesn't know is that Calvin has never delivered anything more than the average pizza!

Now Calvin finds himself in the company of the infamous thief, Ali Baba and Aladdin' s daughter, the beautiful Princess Scheherazade. Calvin soon discovers that his mission is to retrieve the magic lamp from the "Cave of Wonders" where Aladdin had hidden it from his brother before Luxor condemned him to a deep "Sleep of a Thousand Deaths".

With the help of his new found friend Ali Baba and equipped with a few modern gadgets stashed in his backpack, Calvin must face a series of epic challenges, ranging from a dramatic sandstorm to a death-defying battle with marauding Bedouin ghosts.

While life in ancient Baghdad might seem a little dangerous compared to working in a pizza parlour, Calvin begins to relish his new role as an action hero, especially as his feelings for the Princess Scheherazade grow. Spurred on by a sense of gallantry towards the princess and obligation to his new friends, Calvin finds the magic lamp and returns it to Aladdin, who finally awakens from Luxor's spell and is restored to his position of ruler of all Arabia.

Mission accomplished, "the kid" knows he must leave Aladdin's Court and return to his own time, despite his eagerness to stay with the princess.

After all, Calvin, "The Deliverer" has work to do back at the pizza parlour. Life may not be as exciting as it was in old Baghdad, but at least he knows he has what it takes to be a hero!

Star Wars at Savoy
The newly-refurbished, state-of-the-art Savoy cinema opened its doors to the public at a gala evening ceremony last Wednesday under the management of EAP Films and Theatres Pvt. Ltd., premiering George Lucas' 'Star Wars Episode II -Attack of the Clones'.

Ten years have passed since the events of "Episode I: The Phantom Menace". Not only has the galaxy changed but so too have our heroes Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor), Padme Amidala (Portman) and Anakin Skywalker (Christensen)

When we meet them, Anakin has grown into an accomplished Jedi apprentice of Obi-Wan, who has, in turn, changed from being a student into a teacher.

The pair is assigned to protect Padme (who is incidentally no longer queen of Naboo, but is instead, ambassador and Senator), whose life is threatened by a faction of political separatists. Between them they discover there is more going on than there first seemed to be behind an assassination attempt. All the while a Sith Lord is orchestrating events between good and evil, which turns out to be a great temptation to Anakin, as he is lured towards the dark side. It becomes apparent that he is simply waiting for an opportunity to take his chance and ensure himself control of the galaxy. The film stars Ewan Mcgregor, Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman and Samuel L. Jackson.

Star Wars Episode II is directed by George Lucas.
