'Gaffers' offers exquisite dishes

Gaffers, the Mediterranean and Mexican Restaurant is only for those who have a passion for exotic cuisine.

Styled in the spirit of Mediterranean and Mexican Restaurants, Gaffers situated conveniently on Havelock Road, offers an array of exquisite dishes in a simple

setting. It offers dinner throughout the week and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Once guests are at the table, choosing their own favourite meal from the menu, which has a number of equally tempting dishes, is no easy task.

For starters, the Gaffers offer a choice of salads - crispy salad leaves with diced chicken, savoury tuna, or tossed prawns. Also on offer are Potato Mexicana (potato wedges topped with tomato salsa and creamy cheese) and Greek Salad (Fresh tomato slices with Onion rings, Fetta Cheese and Oregano).

Mushroom Capuccino Soup, Portabella Soup (Aspragus in light curry flavour) and Sea Food Bisque are some of the soups available.

If it's main meal, the choice includes Enchiladas/ Burritos (choice of stuffed savoury chicken or prawn/ beef or pork with cheese sauce and potato salad), Aroz Rojo (spicy basmathi rice with sea food, chicken, topped with fried egg and chicken kebab), Carbonara (bacon) or Gnocchi Gorgonzola (potato dumplings in a creamy blue cheese sauce). The main meals, which are all inclusive, range from Rs. 250 to 350.

Gaffers serves a range of pastas for pasta lovers. The pastas include the Sri Lankan styled Rasta Pasta (with curry sauce) or Pasta Diabla, with a devilled meat of your choice. From the Grill, you have a choice of Pepper Crusted Pork Chops and Mixed Meat Grills. Other dishes include Mutton Moussaka, Crab Raviolli, Beef Lasagne and Chilli Con Carne (rice with mince beef sauce).

The vegetarians too have an Italian or Mexican style vegetarian dish for a change, Gaffer's offers a choice of six special dishes. Vegetable Cannelloni, Arabiata, Al Aglio Oglio, Pasta Alfredo and Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Devilled Mushroom Pasta.

The choice of desserts include Tiramusu, Chocolate Biscuit Pudding, CheeseCake, and Juggery/ Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream.

What's more the price of your meal is all you have to pay. The mineral water is provided at no extra cost. The guest can also bring their own liquor.

Gaffers also undertakes catering from a choice of different menus.

'Deli Market':6th Anniversary Bash
September is special for Deli Market and its customers, as they are celebrating six successful years of operation on September 22. The promotions in keeping with a unique tradition, of Rs. '96 deals on rotation basis with special 96 dishes at each counter.

There will be raffle draws for gifts, kiddies activities which includes face painting during lunch, making Rudy and Dino Face mask with Colorcraft during dinner and Rudy and Dino puzzles as a giveaway for the kids. For the young and ''not so old'' there's a Happy Hour with C vibes and Carlsberg with the popular band 'Damage'.

This was built up from the first week in September for the carnivore amongst you, a sizzling "BBQ n' Brew" promotion "with Attitude", will ensure appetites are satisfied with succulent Steaks, Chops, Baby back ribs, tea smoked roasts, kebabs and tandoori style meats in interesting Euro Asian fusion marinades, grilled to perfection using your choice of cooking method: vertical charcoal grilled, teriyaki grilled or a traditionally grilled, with a choice of sauces, potatoes and vegetables.

The desserts are simply luscious - with apple Crumble, Hot Chocolate Pudding and many more. The "XXL BBQ n' Brew for 4" and "For Cowboys Only" value deals, coupled with brews from Three Coins and entertainment every Thursday, are interesting highlights on the extensive menu.

The Deli Market is the only market style restaurant in the city located at level 3 World Trade Center .
