View(s):Once there was a person who used to constantly come into my office and say so many disturbing things such as “well you know Mr. Philip, that person said this bad thing about you, and this person said that bad thing about you, this is what they think about you”. He used to come out with all kinds of statements that can obviously make any human being upset as well as it can arouse conflicts. All of us crave to be loved and appreciated. Even a notorious stray dog seeks love and compassion. Just as oxygen is essential for our physical existence so do we need love and affection for our psychological well-being.

The very moment that we realise that we are rejected is when we start feeling bad from within us, as it is not what aligns with our preference. It is similar to getting a spicy pickle when you are expecting a chocolate. Just as people naturally die of hunger, humans are prone to isolate themselves when they are lonely and they do not receive the love and care they expect. Just because someone speaks badly about us, we should not believe every single thing they say. Out of the enormous things you see on FB about the lives of people, most of it are simply diabolical lies.
Some poor people desire that everyone else is also poor. Likewise, people who are poor in possessing peace do not like others to live in peace hence they would get involved and attempt to sow seeds of anger, bitterness, discrimination and mischaracterising with the wicked ulterior motive of creating a conflict and stealing your peace from you. Remember that seeds that are sown on the ground will only grow if they receive what it needs for their growth. Likewise, if you keep thinking about the seeds that those who steal peace sow in your heart, they will certainly grow to become big plants in your mind. The more you think about them, the more you will grow from a plant into a big tree. The more you worry, those gigantic trees will then grow and depress you.
Therefore, the best thing that can be done is to ignore these peace stealing seeds from growing inside you. I discouraged the peace stealing manager from coming into my room. Every time he attempted to initiate a conversation with me on a subject on how people think of me, I clearly sent him a strong signal that I am not interested in such conversations. The best thing I could do for myself is to avoid peace stealers from coming anywhere close to me.
Sometimes, they might even be your own close relatives. Those who are in misery would always like to drag others into misery too. Hence, they would sow seeds that could create worry and hurt amongst others. A selfish prisoner would always prefer for his friends also to be in prison, as they both would be on the same page. Many people do not like to see those who are on the same wavelength to be at a higher state than them as it will attack their ego. People who have control over their ego are always happy when others prosper.
They are the type of people who are peace growers and they are the type of people we should surround ourselves with. I have previously written articles about dream drainers and today’s article is about peace stealers. Just imagine that 50% of your surroundings are dream drainers and the remaining 50% are peace stealers, you will end up being an aimless person living in misery. Dream drainers have stolen the purpose of your life whilst the peace stealers have transacted your peace into miserable thoughts.
Whenever you listen to someone keep in mind that it is only recommended to listen to the coach’s advice on your techniques. If at all you choose to listen to the opinion of a pundit, who knows nothing about the techniques then it is as though you are trying to get medicine prescribed by a musician. It is only a doctor who can prescribe medicine for you, not a musician. We must be very precise when we select whom we listen to and what we allow to go through us. Therefore, we should not be interested in what everyone has to say.
If your wife is really happy with your haircut then do not worry about the dissatisfying comments the girls at the office make. If your boss is genuinely happy with you do not be discouraged by the comments the sales representatives make. When you are honest and disciplined, it is natural for the fake and undisciplined to mischaracterize you. If you allow the weeds to be planted then you will not be able to become a fruitful person.
In every group there is a person who is not a doctor but he thinks that he is a doctor and he recommends the medicine the people ought to take. The saddest part is that there are people who trust in him and take those medications. We should not be taking advice about our hair cut from the mason. Facebook is full of financial gurus who advice the government on the fiscal and monetary policies but they do not realise that they are a failure themselves as they have been unable to pay their own credit card installments for at least three months and they have had to default many borrowings that they have made from their friends. Fault finders are everywhere but solution providers are very few.
So, think for a moment, who are you surrounded by? Are they Dream Drainers, Peace Stealers, Fault Finders or Passion Motivators, Pace Growers and Solution Providers? Life is too beautiful to be wasted as a garbage can, therefore do not allow unnecessary and unproductive people to dump their garbage on you.
Living in peace should be a decision. Decide to live in peace. I do not talk nor listen to any gossip as those seeds may even pop up in my dreams and attempt to grow within me slowly. Close your mind gate to all types of peace stealers. Anyone who is stopping you from moving ahead should not be allowed to be in your surrounding. We all make mistakes, yet do not let your past hold you from moving forward. When I started the second chapter of my life many people discriminated me stating that I was a drug addict, a loser, a person who is good for nothing, a useless man to society and they had many more discouraging statements that could have very easily stopped me from moving forward.
Yet, I made a strong decision that I am not going to think about them. Do not water and fertilise weeds. I do not even talk to any of my relatives who make me feel frustrated. You must surround yourself with people who will bestow confidence, motivation and inspiration in you. At an instance when you are looking to hire a maid for your house, during the interview if she states that she is going to poison you, would you ever hire her? Even though you are able to understand that illustration very well, many do not understand this. What they exactly do is, they open their gates to these peace stealers who are highly poisonous.
Furthermore, do not forget to Rest in Peace growing thoughts. Encourage your thoughts and speak words that enhance your confidence. Do not place your mind in a distracting environment that can corrupt your mind, rather place it beside calmness. We all have our own problems but do not let your problems have you. Lay aside the past and keep thriving, look deeply into your purpose in life. Do not focus on what is gone, rather focus on what you could gain in the future.
