KDU to sign two MoUs to further higher education

The Cabinet has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), the Institute for Research and Development in Health and Social Care in Sri Lanka and the University of Keele in the United Kingdom.

The proposal, drafted including the observations of the External Resources Department, Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Attorney General, is meant to provide cooperation in the education sector.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal furnished by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as Defence Minister, to sign the MoU.

The Cabinet also approved signing of another MoU between KDU and Tianjin University of Architecture in China with regard to studying relationships and cooperation.

While the clearance of the Attorney General was received, the proposal was drafted based on the observations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, National Budget Department and the External Resources Department.

The Cabinet of Ministers had granted approval for the resolution, furnished by the President as Defence Minister to sign the aforementioned MoU.
