CDB powers MCA Open Sixes for fourth consecutive year

The MCA open Cricket Sixes, organised and conducted by Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA), will commence from September 4, with massive participation of over 80 teams. The annual cricket gala, played among the corporate teams for over three decades, is sponsored by Citizens Development Bank (CDB) for the fourth consecutive year.
This year, over 80 teams are expected to take part in the tournament under Tier ‘A’ and Tier ‘B’ segments. The Tier ‘A’ matches will be held at the MCA, Thurstan College and Colts grounds, with 12 teams playing 15 matches at each location. The Tier ‘B’ segment, comprising of 72 teams, will have 96 matches at five different locations — the MCA, Wesley College, and D.S. Senanayake College grounds, as well as at the Sapper ground in Mattegoda and Dharmapala College ground in Pannipitiya.
The official launch of this year’s edition of the MCA Open Cricket Sixes was held earlier this week at the MCA with Karthik Elangovan, the Executive Director and Chief Emergent Business Officer of CDB presenting sponsorship to MCA officials. Participating in the event were MCA officials including Nalin Wickramasinghe (President), Hasitha Dassanayake (Executive Committee member and Chairman Information and Technology Committee and K.D.S Kanishka (Secretary, Sponsorship Committee) while the senior management of CDB, Sasindra Munasinghe (Executive Director, Sales and Business Development) and Darshana Jayasinghe (Senior Deputy General Manager, Marketing) made also their presence.
The MCA Open Cricket Sixes will commence on August 30 and conclude with the exciting finals at the MCA ground on September 4, followed by the awards presentation ceremony.
