Rahula, Musaeus clinch Super ‘A’ Division titles at U-15 Team Championships

Southerners Rahula College, Matara claimed the Boy's Super 'A' championship

The Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Under-15 Team Championships, conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association (SLSBA) under the auspices of Ministry of Education with the support of McLarens Group of Companies and Richmond College Old Boys’ Association, was held in Galle over the weekend.

The matches took place at the Richmond College Indoor Stadium in Galle, Dadella Indoor Stadium and the Engineering Faculty Courts in Hapugala. A total of 103 school teams took part in the championships which was held under five groups for boys and girls.

Rahula College, Matara, defeated St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota, to clinch the Super ‘A’ Division Boys title while Musaeus College Colombo emerged girls’ champions in the same division after outplaying Lyceum International School, Wattala.

Earlier, Division ‘A’ boys and girls titles were won by Lyceum International School, Wattala, and Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya, Matara, respectively. St. John’s College, Nugegoda, and Lyceum International School, Panadura won the Boys and Girls Division ‘B’ titles respectively while St. Aloysius College, Galle, and Sumedha College, Gampaha won the honours in Division ‘C’.

Lalith Athulathmudali Maha Vidyalaya, Mt. Lavinia clinched the Boys Division ‘D’ while Ananda Shastralaya, Kotte, and Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Badulla won the Division ‘D’ titles for girls.

Brig. Nishantha Vithanage, SLSBA President Athula Nanayakkara, Secretary General Malika Waduge, Vice President and Richmond College Principal P.S. Pushpakumara and officials of SLSBA and Richmond College OBA presented the trophies to winners.
