Lankan CC setting the target, had only their tailender Yesith Rupasinghe’s 30 enabling them reach 100 runs on the board.

In the second match played later on at the same venue, Moors SC convincingly sunk the Navy by 7 wickets. Moors, chasing, were in slight trouble early on, however, Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Mohammed Shamaaz steadied the ship and knocked off the target.

Navy, electing to bat, were only left to rue as they were shot out for a paltry 81. The opening over itself set the tone as Milan Rathnayake finished with figures of 6 for 12, while sitting on a hat-trick. Lahiru Jayakody, who top scored with 36, also was a victim.
