Mahanama thrash DSS by 173 runs
Mahanama College thrashed their traditional rivals D.S. Senanayake College by 173 runs in the 16th Battle of the Golds Limited Overs encounter played at Dambulla yesterday. D.S. Senanayake perhaps would regret their decision to bowl first as Mahanama posted a mammoth total of 290, yet were bundled out with nine deliveries to go. Koojana Perera top scored with an entertaining knock of 112, as Anjana Bandara contributed with 62. Adeesha Bandaranayake claimed four wickets.
However all D.S. Senanayake could manage is to score 117 runs, as they lost all wickets with 35 deliveries remaining. For the losers Abhishek Liyanarachchi top scored with 46 while Dhanuja Edirisinghe claimed three wickets. Inuka Karannagoda and Duvindu Ranatunga shared four wickets between them.
