M.H. Chalitha Pushpika topped the list of 31 golfers, who are engaged in a ranking programme aiming at preparing for the upcoming Asian Games, which is set to be held during September in China.

Pushpika scored 69, 72, 72 and 71 points to gross 284 and stand out of the rest, at the April Golf Ranking Tournament, conducted by Sri Lanka Golf. Coming close behind Pushpika were Vinoth Kumar and Uchitha Ranasinghe, who completed with gross scores of 288 to tie at the second position.  “Sri Lanka Golf has set a challenging programme for the selected golfers from the top league of National Grade to Emerging Grade to peak in readiness for the Asian Games in China come September. The Golf Pros and Amateurs are being put through an elaborate training and mental strengthening schedule to reach peak form in time for the Asian Games,” a spokesman for SLG said. Following the four-day tournament, which was held from April 26 to 29 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, SLG will continue its raking series before finalising the touring contingent for the Asian Games.
