Sri Sumangala College Panadura became eligible to return to the elite league next season after they emerged victorious against St. Sebastian’s College Katuneriya by 7 wickets in the SLSCA Under-19 Division II Tier ‘A’ final played yesterday at the BRC ground.

The winners could be contended with themselves after deciding to bowl first, as they managed to destroy Katuneriya Sebastianites to a paltry total of 66 in the 50-over affair. None of their batsmen could impress, while Sumanagala played collectively to restrict their opponents to a cheaper total.
Sri Sumangala batted cozily to reach the target inside 15 overs, but they lost three wickets on the way.

  •  St. Sebastian’s Katuneriya 66 all out (29.3) (Nimesh Madusanka 16, Vishwa Lahiru 3/19, Rasika Dilshan 2/12, Heshan Kavinda 2/13)
  •  Sri Sumangala Panadura 67 for 3 (14.5) (Duranka Silva 26, Gayan Harshana 3/9)
