Going nuts over prices

View(s):

Just like many food items in the country, the price of coconuts has gone up significantly in recent months.
Prices continue to remain high and consumers continue to suffer as a result. There is no fixed price, with some large coconuts going for as much as Rs. 100 while smaller ones sell for about Rs. 65.

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena announced earlier that Sathosa outlets will sell coconuts at the fixed price of Rs. 75 due to the rising coconut prices. Yet, as with most items at Sathosa, consumers complain they are hard to find.
There is no solution and consumers continue to be at the mercy of vendors.
