Club rugby returns to Kandy
Rugby will return to Central Hills for the first time in 23 months when Kandy SC host CH&FC at Nittawela today with the kickoff set for 4.00pm. The defending champions will be fielding the best available side despite losing as many as seven forwards this season. Kandy beat Sri Lanka Air Force in the opening encounter without much trouble 36-14 played at Ratmalana. Meanwhile the CH&FC could not play their first encounter against Police SC due to COVID-19, but are still under watch as many of their players are yet to recover.
All limited tickets for the match were sold out yesterday and strict measures will be taken by the hosting club due to the tough health conditions to avoid the spread of Covid. A Rapid Antigen Test will be done today morning before the game on both teams.
