Kanishka Dissanayake, the captain of St. Joseph’s College Under-15 ‘A’ team, is a technically sound and stylish right-handed opening batsman as well as right-arm off-spinner. He has been showing great promise for St. Joseph’s College in the All-Island Inter-School Under-15 Division I Cricket Tournament this season.

Kanishka, who captained the school’s Under-13 ‘A’ team and played as an opener with an average of 44.43, scored three consecutive half centuries, with his best being 73 runs against St. John’s College, Nugegoda. He also claimed four wickets in that match.

Yet again, he has risen to lead his team in 2022 at the All-Island Inter-School Under-15 Division 1 Tournament by scoring a masterful knock. Rising to the occasion Kanishka becomes the first centurion of the season and scored a blistering 126 runs in 139 balls with 13 boundaries, at a strike rate of 90.65 in the first match played against President’s College, Maharagama.

Kanishka  has fast gained a name as a game changer and a match-winning player in the Joes camp and is earmarked as one of the future prospects who could reach the highest levels in cricket from the Darley Road school.
