Overall gold award for University of Peradeniya’s 2020 annual report
Prof. Terrence Madhujith and Kanchana Atapattu received the awards on behalf of the university
The University of Peradeniya won the overall gold award for its annual report and accounts for 2020 at the Best Annual Report Award Ceremony organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA) in association with the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL).
The ceremony was held on December 29 at the BMICH in Colombo. Hundreds of public entities including universities, provincial councils, research institutions and many other public sector organisations were the contenders.
The University of Peradeniya also bagged another gold award for its 2020 annual report and accounts under the university category at the same event. Prof. Terrence Madhujith, representing the University of Peradeniya’s Vice Chancellor and the Univeristy’s Statistical Officer Kanchana Atapattu received the awards on behalf of the university. The APFASL, which is the public sector wing of the CA, conducts the award competition with the prime objective of helping improve the quality of annual reports and accounts issued by public sector organisations thereby enhancing transparency, accountability and good governance practices.
