‘House of Gucci’

Renowned Ridley Scott’s biographical crime drama ‘House of Gucci’ is now being screened at theatres around the country.

When Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel their legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately…murder.

Based on the 2001 book, ‘The House of Gucci’ is a sensational story of murder, madness, glamour, and greed by Sara Gay Forden. The film follows Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) and Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), as their romance transforms into a fight for control of the Italian fashion
brand Gucci. The film stars Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.

Scott wanted to make a film about the Gucci dynasty after acquiring rights to Forden’s book in the early 2000s. The project languished for several years, with a number of directors and rumored actors being considered before Scott and Gaga became officially attached in November 2019.

‘House of Gucci’ was released from December 3 at Liberty by Scope Cinemas, PVR Colombo 2,  Scope Cinemas (CCC) – Colombo 2, Vista Lite – Ja-Ela Maxx,  Lite – Moratuwa, Milano 2 – Kegalle and Kandy City Center – Kandy.
