Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne’s latest film ‘Ksheera Sagaraya Kalabini’, based on a novel written by the late Simon Navagaththegama started its shooting at cinema village at Ranminithenna in Hambantota last week.

Considered as a cinematic novel, the story was to be made into a film by several filmmakers and even the copy right had been obtained by award winning teledrama director Ananda Abeynayake who later passed it to Prof. Ariyaratne.

Produced by H. D. Premasiri for Sarasavi Sineru’, the film will be shot for over one month at the cinema village.

Starring Udari Warnakulasuriya, Jackson Anthony, Hemal Ranasinghe, Lucian Bulathsinghala, Gihan Fernando, Sarath Kothalawela, Jagath Benaragama, Kumara Thirimadura, Ruwan Perera, Wasantha Kumarawila, Sumudu Amalka, Priyanka Samaraweera, Anura Bandara Rajaguru, Harinin Kavyanjalee and many others. Actor and singer Ravin Kanishka is introduced to cinema with ‘Ksheera Sagaraya Kalabini’.

Co-produced by H. D. Premasiri, Kumuduni Dias Haputhanthry, Chandra Haputhanthry, the screenplay is written by Jackson Anthony, camera by Channa Deshapriya and music director is Rohana Weerasinghe.

Edited by Ajith Ramanayake, costume designing is by Wenuka Wickremarachchi, art director is Dhammika Hewaduwatte, and makeup and hair styles are done by Priyantha Dissanayake. Choreography is by
Kapila Palihawadana, sound designing by Sasika Ruwan Marasinghe
