Royal Institute launches RI Generous Hearts

Royal Institute International School (RI) has chosen to celebrate its 50th anniversary in a distinctly charitable fashion by launching RI Generous Hearts, its anniversary charity project.

Established in 1971 and building on its experience over the past 50 years, RI firmly believes in holistic education which not only addresses the head, but equally the hand and heart. RI seeks equal educational opportunities for every child, and is working towards realising this dream at every opportunity. Putting into practice its core values, the school encourages its students to bring joy to those who are distant from them.

RI Academic Director - Dr Nirodha Bandara

RI Generous Hearts will reach out to 5000 less privileged students in rural Sri Lanka by donating a complete school pack to help them continue their school education. These supplies will ensure a hassle-free year of school to these students, who necessarily need the power of education to overcome their hardships. The Foundation of Goodness, which strives to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities, plays a significant role in the project through its Essential School Supplies Programme.

Royal Institute invites fellow schools to encourage their students to take part in this charity initiative.

RI Generous Hearts is open to all generous donors and any number of school packs can be gifted by visiting the donation booths at RI international school branches at Havelock Town, Nugegoda, Maharagama, Girls’ School at Maya Avenue and Gampaha. Donations can also be made online through https://royalinstitute.org/ and direct deposit facility is also available.

RI Chairman - G T Bandara

Donors who make cash contributions at donation booths will receive a certificate of appreciation.

The ceremonial donation of school packs will take place on September 1, 2021, as Royal Institute International School celebrates its 50 th anniversary.
