“Sanitizing” has undeniably become the buzz word of the present day, as it has become the most relevant and crucial aspect, in a very volatile health situation all across the world.

Life has never been this alarming during the recent past. The prevailing perilous pestilence has created chaos in our day to day lives. The simplest definition for sanitizing is eliminating pathogenic agents, such as viruses and bacteria, commonly known as disease agents that have the capability to infect and ultimately destroy the lives of human beings. The consequence of an infection, is the deterioration of one’s physical condition.

However, people are unaware and inattentive in working towards protecting their “Mind”, the main source that yields happiness.

We all are aware that we will fall sick if our bodies are infected by a virus, but little do we know that our minds can also be infected.

Yes, that is exactly correct, your mind can also get infected by various corrupt responses which are able to even throw you to the extent of becoming mentally discard.Just as a sickness is the outcome of a physical infection so are sorrow, stress and unhappiness the outcomes of an infectious mind. If a majority of us have actually identified this phenomenon, we would exceedingly focus on sanitizing our minds just as we desire to sanitize our bodies.

That is why it is of utmost importance to sanitize your mind with constant and continuous effort. Failing which the negativity and other destructive elements will pile up to a level which is unbearable for your mind to handle, and it may burst in the form of anxiety, fear, stress, confusion, disappointment and isolation. These aspects could even make you a mentally retard patient. Just as pain is the outcome of a physical illness, so is suffering the outcome of an attacked mind.

The “WORRIES” of yesterday and the “FEARS” of tomorrow, are the two main opponents that would always try to infect your mind.

Both of these enemies steal the very moment of your life, which you are supposed to live to the fullest.When this very moment is missed, it goes to the past as an unproductive moment. The more you store unproductive moments in your mind, the more worries you will encounter in the present. The more you carry worries in the present, the more the uncertainty that will roam around your mind. When uncertainty is allowed to get hold of your mind then more fears will encamp your mind about the future.

When your mind is not in harmony with a situation, then it tends to resist and that resistance transforms in to stress. You need to understand that things do not always have to be in agreement with your manner of thinking or your value system.

You cannot state Rice and Curry as the tastiest meal in the world, nor could an Italian state that Pasta is the tastiest of it all. Your revelation is based on your experience, relativeness and your understanding about the conditions of a situation.

You may wonder what I actually mean by “Sanitize Your Mind” and how you could go about it. One of the most important things you could do to sanitize your mind is to let go of the situation and prioritise to live in the moment by defocusing yesterday’s worries and tomorrow’s fears. Nothing is worth in comparison to sacrificing the happiness of this moment, as you will never gain that very moment again. Therefore, do not let the situation poison your mind and push you towards stress, anxiety and fear.

If the problem has a solution, then go for it. If it cannot be resolved, then you need to understand that however much you worry about it over and over again, you cannot fix it. If you let the situation to take control of your mind, you might end up being unconscious. On the other hand, if you underestimate the situation you might become hyperconscious, which might also push you towards a highly detrimental state of seeking excess of pleasure.

We need to evidently draw the lines of our limitations in terms of satisfaction. Greediness is a form of excess pleasure. Sexual immorality is also a form of excessive pleasure. Jealousy also arises when you have not defined the borders of happiness and contentment. Therefore, make sure you continuously feed your mind with what defines happiness to yourself, and not with what happiness is to others.

There were days that I did not have a job or money to buy something to eat out of a shop, nevertheless I was in extreme happiness by that time as I had clearly defined the borders of my happiness. Contentment is an immeasurably valuable secret towards success and it will definitely sanitise your mind when thoughts of excessive pleasures try to defile you. When you have actually realised what you want from life, then your mind will not resist a situation that arises against your standards.

Create fresh and positive thinking patterns in your mind. Just as physical life patterns, mind patterns could also be created. Many of us are not so good in handling chopsticks, that’s simply because we have not trained ourselves to use chopsticks, but the Chinese will be able to use the chopsticks blindfolded, as their fingers have gotten an immense training on the use of chopsticks.

Similarly, if you train your child to appreciate even a small candy they receive, you are developing an appreciative mind pattern within them. If you make a mistake in the presence of your children, remember to ask for pardon from them. By doing so you are not only developing a humble and forgiving mind pattern for yourself, but you are also guiding your children towards developing a healthy mind of humbleness, forgiveness and compassion.

Having a forgiving heart is sure to eliminate the roots of bitterness. Every time you forgive someone, you are sanitizing your mind. Developing a positive mind pattern will help you to sanitize your mind and protect it from being infected. You may ask “How can I forgive her for what she has done to me?”

Come on, think for a moment how many times you and I have hurt the feelings of our parents or spouses. We cannot pretend to be fake, as if we have never made anyone feel bad.An effective manner of sanitizing your mind is decluttering what is stored in your mind storage every night before you go to bed. Eliminate the roots of bitterness by forgiving those who have hurt you during the day.

Make sure you do not carry forward any feelings and thoughts of anger to the following day. We do not store garbage in our kitchen for days, we empty it to the main garbage bin on a daily basis. Likewise, do not carry any garbage in your mind for tomorrow.  Empty your daily load of garbage today, and sanitize your mind.

Laugh as much as you can, and cry as hard as you need to. In this manner you will develop a healthy mind that does not carry happiness nor sorrow excessively. Excessive Happiness can make you blind to the reality and lead you to make disastrous decisions. Therefore, sanitize your mind on a daily basis.

In conclusion make sure you protect your mind with a parapet wall of rich values, so that you can prevent all forms of mind infecting elements from entering your mind.
