A young boy by the name of Ishan Kalhara Karunanayake has followed a welding course conducted by the Skills Development Ministry and is looking forward to starting his own business.

Ishan Kalhara wanted to pursue higher studies, but was compelled to undergo the training course, as his father had fallen ill with cancer.

“His ambition is to find employment and support the family as soon as possible, “ his father Jagath Prasanna said.

“However as I have fallen ill, and I’m receiving treatment at the Cancer Hospital, with the need to spend Rs. 15,000 every month for medicine, things are difficult at home,” he added.

He said his son had now acquired the required skills, but was finding it difficult to obtain the required equipment to carry on his own business.

Mr. Prasanna said an estimated Rs. 200,000 was needed to purchase the required equipment including a welding plant and other tools, so that he could make use of the skills gained through the course.

He would appreciate if any generous well wisher would come forward to help his son purchase the required equipment.

Mr. Jagath Prasanna’s contact number is  0776 135 064 and Bank Account details are Commercial Bank, Minuwangoda,
A/c 8330027439.
