Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) has introduced a scheme to help dependants from school cricket, mainly coaches, who are effected due to lockdown situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Issuing a circular through social media, the SLSCA has instructed school cricket coaches and other support staff to provide related information to its General Secretary or Treasurer to make further arrangements.

“We (SLSCA) are highly concerned about the welfare of our stakeholders and we are looking at all possible ways to provide them, mainly coaches and support staff, who are effected due to the inactiveness of the sport,” the message stated.

“Our main worry is about the school coaches, who did not receive their salary payments for the month of March, as the country was suddenly shut down. The SLSCA is intending to provide these individuals with some relief or mediate with relevant parties to obtain their facilities”.

The SLSCA has introduced the email addresses of its General Secretary (kamalkmv@gmail.com) and Treasurer (manjulabasilica@yahoo.com) to provide information. In addition the mobile lines of SLSCA General Secretary J.K.S. Indrajith (0705090054) and Treasurer Manjula Vass (0705090055) are kept open for those who are willing to obtain further information.
