Danuk and Sindumi — Most Outstanding at WWG TT

Danuk Lamasuriya of Ananda College and Sindumi Dahamsa of Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda won the Most Outstanding Boys and Girls awards respectively at the Women’s Working Group-TTASL All-Island Novices/Intermediate Table Tennis Championship held at S. Thomas’ Indoor Stadium in Mt. Lavinia.

Danuk won the Novices Men’s event and emerged runner-up in Intermediate Men’s while also reaching the semifinal stage of the Open Men’s event. Sindumi won both the Under-12 Girls and Novices Women’s Singles events.

This tournament was organised by Women’s Working Group of Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka (TTASL) to celebrate International Women’s Day. TTASL General Secretary Srinath Wijethunga and Assistant Treasurer Eran Mallawarachchi were present at the prize distribution ceremony.

The Women’s Working Group felicitated current national women’s champion Hansani Piumila and Junior National Girls champion Maneesha Salindi at the occasion.
