“Janashakthi Award” honours top performers in insurance and valuation at Wayamba University
View(s):Janashakthi Insurance PLC has presented awards to the top three performers of the Wayamba University’s 2019 batch of B.Sc. (Special) Insurance and Valuation graduates for their outstanding performance.
The ‘Janashakthi Award’ is awarded annually to the top three students that excel in this specialised degree programme offered at the Wayamba University to promote and foster the next generation of qualified insurance professionals. The Best Student receives a Gold medal and a cash award while the second and third best students receive Silver and Bronze medals and cash awards respectively, the company said in a media release.
This partnership commenced in 2008 with the inception of this special degree programme which is offered exclusively at the Wayamba University. Furthermore, alongside this partnership Janashakthi Life also offers internship opportunities to students undertaking the degree. This first-hand exposure of working in the real world is extremely beneficial for the students as it also allows students to harness the skills, knowledge, and theoretical practices they learn.

Our partnership with Janashakthi Life is a great value addition and further compliments this programme by recognising the top performers and motivating the students to strive for excellence. The practical exposure provided during the internship stints enables the graduates to become fully fledged insurance professionals giving them greater employability”.
