SriLankan reduces flights to China

National carrier SriLankan Airlines has reduced its flights to China since Thursday due to less passengers flying out, the airline said in a statement.

The airline was reducing its flights to Beijing from four to two; Shanghai from four to two; and Canton from seven to three.

The statement noted the carrier “is rationalising its services to China in accordance with current market conditions as per its long-held commercial policies with a temporary reduction of frequencies to several cities.

This is to better reflect passenger demand in the wake of a significant reduction in the number of Chinese travellers venturing overseas following the outbreak of the Novel coronavirus epidemic.”
