STV goes to a new home

STV, an online TV channel started a year ago and has gained a considerable popularity among the Sri Lankan and foreign viewers has been shifted to a new spacious location at Battaramulla in Pelawatte.

Following its programme gaining popularity specially through Youtube and with the aim of expanding its productions, STV was shifted to a new building with new production rooms, office rooms. A number of well-known cinema and television stars were present at the opening of the new building.

STV which presented popular programmes like ‘Ape cinemawa’, ‘Visammuthiya’ and  ‘Music Factory’, is planning to produce more programmes related to social, political, economical issues and current news and entertainment.

Plans are also underway to develop STV to a mainline TV channel and a radio channel and experienced production team is to join the STV.

Seasoned journalist Anila Sampath Perera is the News Director and television and film director Deshamanya Sripali Hettiarachchi is the head of STV.
