‘Dance Monkey’ single on the charts for 18 weeks

Tones & I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ has been on the UK singles chart for 18 weeks and out of that been 10 weeks on the top spot. The Australian singer has now equalled the longest reign by female artist at the No; 1 position joining ranks with Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You in 1992 and Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ in 2007. This week ‘Dance Monkey’ was helped by 75,000 combined sales and 9.39 streams.

Weekend notches up the charts with ‘Heartless’’

Canadian artist Weeknd has notched a top 10 hit on the UK singles chart with ‘Heartless’ a break up and relationship track which moved from 64 to No:10. The song is his seventh UK top 10 hit and song is taken off his forthcoming untitled album.

French Montana releases new album

Rap star French Montana released his new album ‘MONTANA’ on 6th December. But the 35 year old is at home in Calabasas, California resting for several weeks after he was in the ICU between 21st and 28th November. Montana had suffered from exhaustion and dehydration after flying to four countries in six days.

Demi Lovato to release new music

Demi Lovato has taken to social media to indicate she will be releasing new music. In her post Lovato said the next time you hear from her will be her singing. Lovato has taken a backseat after her drug overdose last year and rehab. She had previously uploaded pictures of her singing in the studio.

Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic back on the charts

Just weeks away from Christmas, Mariah Carey’s festive classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is back on the UK singles top 10 chart.

Released this year on 25th November, the song debuted at 77 and then moved to 59 and 34 before taking a big leap to No: 8. It is the sixth occasion the song has surfaced on the top 10 since it was first released in 1994. The song has never reached the No: 1 spot but as there is ample time, who knows what the final score will be. To mark 25 years since it’s released, a new video for ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has been uploaded with previously unseen material.

LadBoy releasing a Christmas song

LadBoy is releasing a Christmas song this year too. Last year the family YouTube act took the season by storm to register a shock Christmas No: 1 with ‘We Built This City On (Sausage Rolls)’ a re- written version of the Starship hit. Now the same family comprising blogger Mark Hoyle, his wife Roxanne and two sons will release their version of Joan Jett’s ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’ called ‘I Love Sausage Rolls’. This year too proceeds will be for the food bank charity The Trussell Trust.

Lewis Capaldi resumes tour

Lewis Capaldi resumed his tour after throat problems last week but the singer had a rude welcome show in Edinburgh when he was forced to stop his concert after a brawl broke out in the balcony on 5th December. Lewis had to stop half way through the song ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. His parents were also in attendance at the sold out show. Police were called in and at least one person was arrested.
