‘Singha Thalam’, a dance performance by the Channa and Upuli dance troupe – to raise funds for vital equipment needed by the National Institute of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation at Maligawatte – will be held on November 3 at 6 p.m. at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.

The Lion Ladies of Lions Clubs International District 306 B1 who have organised this fund-raiser hope to donate 10 Multi-para Monitors and 10 beds to this national nephrology unit.

“Multipara Monitors are required to monitor the respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation etc., when patients are undergoing dialysis. A change in these parameters can be identified early with this equipment and it facilitates the doctors to take action immediately and prevent the patient getting suffering complications,” said the Secretary of the Lion Ladies Committee, Lion Dr. Manel Fernando.

Tickets for the dance performance priced at Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 are available at the Lions Secretariat District 306 B1, 120/20, Vidhya Mawatha, off Maitland place, Colombo 7 (Phone: 011-2691368); the Thalis Restaurant, 155, Park Road, Colombo 5 (Phone: 011-2507788); and the Ranweli Supermarket, Main Road, Negombo.
