Hon. Minister of Finance you have increased salaries of government servants and added allowances for pensioners too. But in the case of retired private sector employees, they depend only on the interests of FDs. The Government pays 15 per cent only up to Rs.1.5 million from which each person earns little more than Rs.15,000 per month which is not sufficient at all for day to day expenses and medical needs.

For the additional money they have deposited in banks, they get very low interest rate. Therefore I earnestly request you to consider the difficult condition of senior citizens and increase the deposit amount up to Rs. 2.5 million on the same interest rate of 15 per cent per annum. Retired private sector senior citizens have also done a great service to the country and you need to consider their economic hardships.
