Marking Geoffrey Bawa’s 100th birth centenary this July, the Lunuganga Trust is celebrating the legacy of one of Sri Lanka’s most eminent architects through a programme of events scheduled from July 2019 to July 2020.

From today, July 14th, until next Sunday, the 21st, Lunuganga opens its doors to the public to view the first in a series of exhibitions introducing some of the extraordinary holdings in the Geoffrey Bawa Collection through an installation of  Decorative Art objects. This installation of decorative objects provides a fascinating glimpse of both the social and private uses of these beautiful things collected over a lifetime by Bawa.

The Decorative Arts in the Geoffrey Bawa Collection will be on view until the 21st at Lunuganga in Dedduwa, Bentota from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m daily. Curatorial tours will take place on the 14th at 3 p.m. and on the 16th, 20th at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on the 21st at 11 a.m. led by Lunuganga Trust curator Shayari de Silva, with a special tour of Lunuganga and the exhibition by Channa Daswatte this morning at 11 a.m. and on the 21st at 3 p.m.
