‘Isolation’ wins a director’s debut award in London

Ranjan Prasanna’s debut directorial venture ‘Visangamanaya’- ‘Isolation’ won the second place at director’s maiden film category at London’s Lift off Film festival recently.

Initially ‘Isolation’, produced by Mahesh Wijeratne was among the first 38 films selected for the semi-final round. It was later selected for the five final films in the said category. Polish film ‘Totem’ was selected as the winner, while the Sri Lanka’s ‘Isolation’ the second place. The other three films selected were French film ‘La Rose de Sang’ (Rose of Blood), Brazilian film Super Tinga hero from two Continents and the Indian film ‘The flowers of Cassia and Mango’.

Screenplay written by Upali Gamlath, cinematography of ‘Isolation’ is handled by Thrishula Deepa Thambavita and musical score is by Samantha Perera.

The film stars Ashan Dias, Semini Iddamalgoda, Samanali Fonseka, Duglas Ranasinghe, Hyasinth Wijeratne, Udith Abeyratne, Niroshan Wijesinghe, Chinthaka Kulatunga, Charith Abeysinghe, Ishan Mendis, Gamini Jayalath, Bandula Suriyabandara and Sujeewa Karunaratne.

The editing and colour grading of ‘Isolation’ is done by Praveen Jayaratne.

London Lift-Off Film Festival is one of the longest-running Lift-Off event, having had some of the London’s most prestigious screening locations. It still remains one of the best attended and press exposed Lift-Offs on the network.
