The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community in Myanmar organised a special Bodhi Pooja at the premises of the sacred Shwedagon Pagoda on Sunday, May 5 in remembrance of the victims of the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka and to invoke blessings on the wounded for their speedy recovery.

The Bodhi Pooja ceremony was held under the patronage of Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Myanmar Nandimithra Ekanayake. Three Sri Lankan monks led by Rev. Devananda Thera, who are studying at the Abhidhamma University in Myanmar, conducted the Bodhi Pooja. The members of the Board of Trustees of the Sacred Shwedagon Pagoda also participated in this religious event.
