Much awaited Sinhala movies lined up in CEL circuit

A number of much awaited Sinhala films including Prasanna Vithanage’s newest road movie ‘Gaadi’ are to be released in the CEL circuit cinemas in the year 2019. The series of films will be started with “Jayasri Amathithuma” and will be followed by “Kathuru Mithuru”, “Gaadi”, “Gindari 2”.
CEL Circuit was formed in the year 2001 with the pioneer in the cinema industry with the stake holders being Ceylon Theatres (Pvt) Ltd, Cinemas Ltd and Ceylon Entertainments Ltd CEL circuit currently operates with 30 theatres which are equipped with all modern technology and features and some cinemas are in complexes with five, three and two cinemas.
From the year 2001 to 2019 up to date CEL circuit has released 90 Sinhala films in the main theatres like Regal and Lido and other cinemas island wide and films were screened with internationally acclaimed film directors such as Late Dr.Lester James Peiris, SumithraPeiris , Asoka Handagama, Chandram Rutnam, Prasanna Vithanage, Udayakantha Warnasooriya , Benet Ratnayake , InokaSatyangani etc., and also we have supported young film directors by screening their films andmost of the films screened have won awards in international and local film festivals.
CEL circuit is the main distributor for Tamil, English and Hindi films too.
From the year 2014 to 2018 it has distributed about 143 Tamil films includingblock buster films like BahubaliBahubali 2, Aranmanai 2, Bairava, VickramVedha, Vivegam, Sarkar, Mersal,Kaala, Viswaroopam 2, Vada Chennai with Stars like Vijay, Ajith , Rajnikanth and Kamalhasan.
English 115 films includingblock buster films like Godzilla, Fast &Furious, Jurassic World, Kung fuPanda,Batman vs Superman
Hindi 54 films including block buster films like Chennai Express, BombayVelvet, Sultan, Happy New Year,Padmavat and Race 3 with stars like Sharukh Khan, Salman Khan and others
According to the management, it pays the Sinhala film producers their film shares on time and also pay advances to the producers well as to the suppliers and most of the producers and directors have appreciated the service rendered by the circuit.
