Guests at the Saudi Arabia stall at International Day held last Saturday at the Defence Military Academy in Kiribathgoda got a taste and feel for the Kingdom when they were treated to Arabic coffee and dates.

The Sri Lanka Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) celebrated International Day with overseas students from more than 30 countries who are following courses at the Academy setting up stalls to project their countries’  culture, cuisine and local products.

Major Hamad Al-Hajri, a Saudi student of the Academy, showed invitees around his country’s stall having welcomed them traditionally by serving Arabic coffee with dates.

The Saudi stall was well patronized by visitors who got a chance to learn more about the culture of the desert kingdom.

Officials from the Royal Saudi Embassy in Colombo as well as staff from the national carrier Saudia were also present at the stall.
