CMA Sri Lanka Speech Craft 10th batch completion coincides with CMA 20th Anniversary celebration

Batch – 10 speech crafters together with Shanthi Maheswaran, Dhammika Prasanna, Dian Abeyewardene, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, Ruchira Perera, Shermal Fernandopulle, R. Mayuran, and CMA Toastmasters Club Members.

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka, under the astute leadership of Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, keep evolving and enriching their programms endeavouring to add value to the students and members ensuring continuous progress and development of the accounting professional to become a Leader or competent enough to climb to the top of the corporate ladder.

The 10th batch excelled themselves by completing the 12 sessions in just 5 weeks, and their performance at the final Awards ceremony meeting was outstanding.

The programme topics covered were enriched by additional Keynote topics namely; ‘The importance and impact of new technology on the Accounting Profession and the effective use of Power Point in Presentations’ followed by special modules on ‘Career Path Guidance –Road Map and Positive Thinking’ and ‘Time Management and Teamwork’.

The robust, 12 session speech craft programme concluded on Sunday 24th March 2019, with an excellent overall performance of some brilliant speeches and well played roles, which was highly commended by VP Education of CMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters, Club, Shermal Fernandopulle, who presided over the Awards ceremony segment. Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala congratulated the Speech Craft participants and announced that to mark the 20th Anniversary of CMA Sri Lanka started in 1999, and the completion of 10 Batches of Speech Craft programme, an Alumni Association of Speech Crafters of CMA Sri Lanka, wouid be established shortly.

President of CMA Sri Lanka, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala and Council Member Mr. Ruchira Perera gave away the Certificates with Mr. Shemal Fernandopulle VP Education of CMA Toastmasters, Club in attendance. Vice President of CMA Sri Lanka Mr. Hennanayake Bandara, Members of CMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters , Club, Invitees and CMA Staff members also participated. The Awarding of the Certificate segment was conducted by the Course Director Mr. Dian Abeyewardene and the Ceremony was followed by entertainment provided by the talented Speech Crafters and lunch meticulously planned and managed by Mrs. Shanthi Maheswaran and the CMA administration team who were all appreciated by a speech Crafter who delivered a magnificent vote of thanks showering much gratitude on the Visionary leadership of Prof. Lakshman R Watawala and the Council Members of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. CMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters, Club,too ,received a bouquet for the facilitation assistance provided throughout the programme. The 11th Batch of Speech Crafters is already in progress and the Final Awards Meeting is scheduled for 8th April 2019.
