CR's Tarinda Ratwatte scores a try

CR&FC edged-out their traditional-rivals CH&FC 38-33 in their Dialog Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament Super Round encounter worked off under lights at the Racecourse Grounds in Reid Avenue yesterday.

CR&FC who led 23-12 at half time survived a late onslaught from their opponents and went on to seal the game while collecting their points from two goals, three tries and three penalties.

CH&FC of course, made a fantastic effort in the second half to pull off the game before they eventually fell short by five points having responded with four goals and one try.

Riza Raffaideen and Tarinda Ratwatte scored two tries each while Wajid Fawmy scored a try for the CR&FC with Ratwatte converting two tries and also put over three penalties.

Avishka Lee, Shenuka Herath, Nishon Perera, Sudarshana Muthuthanthri and Sudam Sooriyarachchi scored a try each for the CH&FC while Samuel Maduwantha converted four tries.

Police claim Plate title

Police Sports Club clinched the Plate Championship when they defeated Army Sports Club 50-27 in the deciding encounter worked off at Welisara yesterday. At halftime the Soldiers led 20-19 but the Airmen fought their way back to secure a rather comfortable win.
