Conquer Colombo is an award winning project, organised for the seventh consecutive year by the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School. It’s Sri Lanka’s largest quest that spans across Colombo, and throws at you an array of activities, both challenging and entertaining. The event this year is set to feature more than 200 teams, competing for the grand prize of four return air tickets to Jakarta, sponsored by SriLankan Airlines.

Organisers say the participants will be given clues, which will take them around Colombo, locating monuments and completing challenges.

From gobbling down food and shooting at targets to navigating mazes and dancing in public, there are endless surprises that await the contestants. Adding to that, the thrill of solving riddles to identify locations, and the rush to complete all within the stipulated time, Conquer Colombo is sure to bring out the adventurer in you.

To spice things up, the already exciting project takes on an added twist, bringing the popular game of Monopoly into life. The entire race is structured around the board game, where you’re expected to use your play money to buy challenges, gather chance/community chest cards, complete tasks to earn scores and stay out of bankruptcy to cash in and emerge the overall winners!

There are several sub categories you can compete for including the Best Themed Team and the Funkiest Ride. If you want to compete with a team of four girls, there’s also an award for the highest scoring all girls team. In addition to the return air tickets, there’s plenty of other prizes on offer for the top ranked teams, including overnight stays at Jetwing Hotels, vouchers and many more exciting gifts.

Profits arising from the project would be utilised to fund the club’s biggest community service initiative “Project Life” which aims to fund the instalment of Reverse Osmosis Plants in areas which are most affected by the Chronic Kidney Disease in the North Central Province.

The project is to be held on Sunday January 27, starting from Racecourse Colombo 7 at 9 a.m.So head out to www.conquercolombo.com/register, to register your team of four for the event. Registrations close on Friday January 25th at 11.59 pm. It’s your chance to win big prizes and contribute to a worthy cause. You’re going to be making some amazing memories while you’re at it.
