Jess Glynne single moves into the charts

The new Jess Glynne single ‘Thursday’ moved into the UK top 10 from 18 to 7. The song is the third track to roll off Glynne’s new album ‘Always In Between’. The song follows ‘All I Am’ which peaked at 7 a few months back.

 

Ariana Grande’s single debuts at the top of the charts

Pop singer Ariana Grande scored a direct hit when her new single a break up track ‘thank U, next’ debuted at the stop of the UK singles chart.

The song released on 4th November, collected a combined 73,000 in combined sales with 6.7 million streams to depose Lady Gaga and Bradley Copper’s duet ‘Shallow’. Success for the 25 year old US pop star comes amidst a tumultuous 18 months dealing with a bomb attack outside her concert, an engagement, the death of a former boyfriend by suicide and splitting up with her fiancé.  ‘thank U, next’ brings some solace to Grande as the synthpop/RnB track has become the UK No:1 song, and her very first solo hit. Her previous two No: 1 songs on the UK chart were duets – ‘Problem’ featuring Iggy Azalea and ‘Bang Bang’ with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, both in 2014. ‘thank U, next’ is the title track of Ariana Grande’s new album.

 

Little Mix say goodbye to Simon Cowell

The pop group Little Mix have ended their management agreement with Simon Cowell. Their management company Modest and Syco parted was according media reports from the UK.

Little Mix through Modest Management inked a deal soon after the group won X-Factor in 2011. Reports suggest a dispute over the new album ‘LM5’ led to the split. Little Mix current hit song is ‘Woman Like Me’ featuring Nicki Minaj.

 

US singer Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ moves up the chart

Another break up song has made its way to the UK top 10 this week. ‘Without Me’ by US singer Halsey moved up from 22 to 9 is her very first solo effort unlike her previous hits have either been with other artist. ‘Without Me’ first debuted on the chart five weeks ago at 24, then dropped to 27 and moved up again to 26, 22 and now 9. She was featured artist on Benny Blanco’s recent No: 1 song ‘Eastside’ with Khalid Robinson.

 

Liam Payne congratulates Cheryl on  new single

Liam Payne and Cheryl may no longer be a couple. They however share an 18 month old son and appear to respect each other’s careers as Payne took to social media on 9th November congratulate Cheryl on the release of her new single ‘Love Me Do It’.

 

 

Spice Girls tour extended 

The Spice Girls Viva 4 Ever reunion tour has been extended by five more dates after all the tickets to their original six dates venues were sold out making it Ticketmaster UK’s busiest sale ever as over 700,000 fans went online on 10th November. The tour will now start on 29th May in Manchester with two extra dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Wild fires destroy  homes of Robin Thicke, Neil Young and Miley Cyrus 

Many music stars have had to evacuate their homes as wild fires rage through the US state of California over the last 10 days. Among those who had to go are Lady Gaga, the rapper Lil Pump, Cher and Melissa Etheridge. Artists whose houses were completely destroyed are Robin Thicke’s, Neil Young and Miley Cyrus.
