Omega Line and Maliban Biscuits win Mercantile VB ‘A’ Division
Omega Line SC and Maliban Biscuits SC won the ‘A’ Division men and women championships of the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament, played at the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) indoor courts yesterday. The tournament was conducted by Mercantile Volleyball Association.
At ‘A’ Division men’s finals, Omega Line SC beat Eskimo Fashions SC by set 3-0 (25-13,25-17 and 25-17) while at the women’s finals, Maliban Biscuits SC beat MAS Unichela SC Panadura by set 3-0 (25-21,25-22 and 25-18).
The matches were played under three categories (‘A’ Division, Championship and Super League). Over 60 teams from mercantile sector participated in this tournament.
The finals of the Championship and Super League (men and women) categories will be played today. Today’s schedule:
8.00am: Championship women’s final (Omega Line SC Vs. MAS Casualine SC Mawathagama)
11.00am: Championship men’s finals (Ocean Lanka SC Vs. Expo Lanka Holdings)
2.30pm: Super League women’s final (Brandix Apparel SC Meerigama Vs. MAS Caualine SC Mawathagama)
4.00pm: Teejay Lanka PLC Vs. MAS Kreeda Leisureline Katunayake)
The category winners will be rewarded with 1.5 million rupees apart from the cash prizes for best players.
