Seylan Bank in 71-70 win over John Keells
Seylan Bank players move on to score a point during their thrilling encounter against JKH
A thrilling Basketball encounter was witnessed in the Men’s ‘B’ Division, at the 28th Mercantile League Basketball Tournament 2018, when Seylan Bank came from behind to snatch a 1 point victory over John Keells Holdings (JKH) at Henry Pedris Basketball Complex, on Day 11.
In another match in the same Division, MAS Holdings (MAS) scored an easy win over Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), while in the Women’s ‘A’ Division Hatton National Bank (HNB) defeated Seylan Bank 50-37.
JKH were leading 37-32 in the 1st half, when a freshly organised Seylan Bank outfit turned on their boosters in the 2nd half to nudge JKH 71-70.
The tournament entered its Day 15 schedule, as matches scheduled for Days 13 and 14 were rescheduled for a later date, as rain prevented play on both days.
