The life of music icon Sir Elton John is being made as a movie. Shooting of the film Rocketman named after his 1972 hit has commenced in London according to reports.

The role of Elton John is being played by actor Taron Egerton. The film directed by Dexter Fletcher will be out by May 2018. Meanwhile Elton John is currently on a farewell tour which expected to last three years.

Cardi B has been arrested on October 1, over an alleged assault. Reports have emerged the rapper along with eight members of her entourage were involved in an incident at a strip club in New York on August 29 where two bartenders were physically attacked. The rap star whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar turned herself with her eight member entourage to the police in Queens, New York and werelater released.

Kanye West has changed his name to Ye ahead of the release of his album ‘Yandhi’ on 23rd November. The 41 year old took to social media on 29th September to make the announcement. Ye is said to be the rap star’s nickname. Previously other famous musicians such as Prince, Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg have changed their names.

Prince has been honoured by the University of Minnesota with a posthumous Doctorate of Humane Letters. The letter was presented to the late singer’s sister Tyka Nelson on 26th September.

This week the Calvin Harris & Sam Smith duet ‘Promises’ scores a fourth consecutive week at the top of the UK singles chart. The hit song had 6500 combined as a lead over the No: 2 song ‘Eastside’ by Benny Blanco and a 6.6 million in streams.

Jess Glynne’s new single ‘All I am’ advanced to the UK top 10 from 11 to No: 9. The single comes ahead of the release of Glynne’s second album ‘Always In Between’ which is due out on 12th October. The pop house track is the second single to roll off the album and follows the chart topping hit ‘I’ll Be There’. This is the seventh solo top 10 hit song for Glynne while she had four more top 10 songs as a featured artist.

Late Singer Prince

A posthumous release ‘Falling Down’ by Lil Peep & XXXTentacion debuted on the UK singles chart at No: 10. The song was recorded first by US singer and rapper Lil Peep with producer ILoveMakonnen in London last year. Lil Peep whose real name is Gustav Ahr died aged 21 last November following an accidental drug overdose. As the story goes, US rapper XXXTentacion whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy heard the song and recorded a rap verse for ‘Falling Down’. This year XXXTentacion was shot dead in June at the age of 20 during a failed robbery. As a tribute to both budding youngsters ILoveMakonnen decided to bring out the posthumous single. Lil Peep had a minor hit song in the UK last year with Marshmello called ‘Spotlight’ which peaked at No: 74. XXXTentacion’s hit came after his death as the song ‘Sad’ peaked on the chart at No: 5.
