Leading lingerie brand amanté debuted their 2018 Autumn/Winter collection titled ‘Starry Tales’ at Barefoot Garden Café this week, along with a few additional delights from both amanté and its sister label Ultimo.

Inspiration for the Starry Tales collection comes from the mysteries surrounding night-time, according to the design team. The collection aims to evoke the magic of moonlit nights and blossoming floral gardens.

“amanté has always catered to an audience that knows innerwear isn’t only functional – it can make you feel incredible if you choose the right design and cut,” says CEO of MAS Brands Niranjan Wijesekera.

The key print is chrysanthemum, with other notable trends incorporated into the collection, such as three-toned lace, floral and leaf motifs, and an evocative colour palette of blues, highlighted by pops of bright warm colours.

Key pieces include Moonlit Florals, a padded and wired demi bra with matching bikini, with contrasting three-toned lace inspired by the chrysanthemum. Midnight Shimmer is a moulded, padded and wired full-cover bra and bikini set in an iridescent two-toned fabric. Night Garden is a printed sweetheart bra, available in both wired and non-wired styles. Nocturne features a bold floral print and trendy double-strapping centre front details. The final set that was showcased was Lace Bloom, in a stunning floral lace design over a deep Gibraltar blue.

The first two segments of the show featured Ultimo, beginning with their core range and followed by a few styles from the recently-launched Tropical Influence collection.

Ultimo’s range caters to the needs of the fuller-figured lady -Deputy General Manager of Marketing for MAS Brands Gayani Gunawardena explains that Ultimo came into the market as a result of research indicating that there was an unmet need for larger cup sizes.

The next segment featured a few pieces from amanté’s new bralette collection, which was designed as a bridge between innerwear and outerwear. The fourth segment was a sneak peek at their upcoming holiday range of sleepwear in soft satin combined with elegant lace detailing. Come November, they will be available in a sleep cami and short set, full length chemise, babydoll and a robe.

Both amanté and Ultimo are available at the flagship amanté store at Racecourse Mall in Colombo 7 and Kandy City Centre, in leading retail outlets islandwide, or online at www.amante.lk
