Maestro Victor Ratnayake returns with ‘Sarasa- Ratnamaya Gee Amanandaya
View(s):Maestro vocalist and musician, Victor Ratnayake will present his new solo musical extravaganza, ‘Sarasa- Ratnamaya Gee Amanandaya,’ on September 16 at 6.30 p.m. at the Nelum Pokuna.
The ‘Sarasa’ concert series is a revival of Victor’s ‘Sa’ solo shows, much loved by Sri Lankan classical music fans for many years. The first concert of the new series was held last month at the Polgolla Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium, Kandy.
The show will include his all-time favourite songs including some of his latest covers.
Musician Susil Amarasinghe will lead the orchestra with Sanath Sathishchandra, Thisara Bandara, Rukshan Gunewardena on violin, Rochana Ramanayake on cello, Nihal Kalubowila on tabla, Janaka Bogoda on flute, Jagath Mapalagama on sitar, Vajira Gomez and Sugath Hettiarachchi on keyboard, Mahinda Bandara, Mahendra Pasquel, Shaluka Hettiarachchi on guitar, Jayantha Dissanayake on saxophone and Manjula Kaluarachchi on drums.
Students of the University of Visual and Performing Arts will join as choral singers while Wasantha Rohana will be the compere.
