New generation singer medical undergrad Saliya Uduwella, released his latest song ‘Husmak Gane Meweva’ last week and now a popular hit on you tube.

Saliya, who is the second year medical student from a Russian Medical College, is now in Sri Lanka for the summer vacation. The ‘Husmak Gane Meweva’ was penned by Kasun Kondasinghe and the music arrangements and composing were created by Anushaka Dasanayake.

‘This is my eleventh song and I have started working on this song as soon as I landed in Colombo. While I am in Sri Lanka, I thought this could be a great time to work out my newest production.’ explained Saliya.

Saliya started his musical career at the age of seven with a song ‘Punchi punchi mal’, while he was studying at Nalanda College, Colombo.

‘I studied music under masters Wickrama Palliyamulla and Athula Liyanarachchi at the school and they helped and guided me to go on my musical career. My second and third song- ‘Hitha Pudinne’ and ‘Pem sith Yaye’ reached the height of popularity in 2014’ he said.

He is always careful not to mix his hobby music with his studies.

‘My profession is medicine and I love doing it. I always wanted to come to Sri Lanka and serve my people. Music is my hobby and I will continue to be with it, when I am free’ Saliya explained.
