SEC, CSE hold first SME forum at Anuradhapura

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) organised the first regional Small and Medium Entrepreneur (SME) forum on Wednesday at the Golden Mango Resort, Anuradhapura.

Several entrepreneurs from construction, tourism, agricultural, healthcare and manufacturing sectors attended the event, CSE officials said.
“Over 300 investors attended the forum to educate investors on the Capital Market,” Tushara Jayaratne, Director External Relations and Surveillance, CSE told the Business Times.

While for SME investors this was the first, in the investor forum “Kotas Weledapola Nagarayen Nagarayata” series this was the 12th, he said.
“This year we did Panadura, Bandarawela, Kurunegala and Embilipitiya in the series,” he added. CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike conducted a presentation at the SME forum on the recently launched Empower Board.
