A commendable show! The versatile students of Gateway College, Rajagiriya displayed their showmanship with their concert ‘Sparkling Stars’ on June 22 and 23, 2018.

Presenting around 500 students on stage at Nelum Pokuna theatre, the weekend kicked off with some brave explorers from the foundation (ages 2 to 5) in ‘Rumbles in the Jungle’. These young performers showed off their theatrics, adorning the guises of ‘cuddly’ teddy bears, fierce lions and even flamboyant peacocks! They also exhibited their dexterity by tackling a ballet number as the beautiful birds of ‘Rio’!

Segment 2 was a vivid dream come true, with students of Key Stage 1 (ages 5 to 7) guiding their excited audience through a mysterious museum adventure! The older students re-enacted snippets of history bringing back bygone times and personalities. From sailing the oceans with some fierce pirates, to dancing the jig with cowboys, the museum tour ended with some skilled dance moves from a talented Michael Jackson and Shah Rukh Khan!

Day 2 presented various dances from around the world, coupled with a theatrical plot by the older students from Key Stage 2 (ages 7 to 11).Filled with engaging scripts, colourful costumes and vibrant personalities these young performers undeniably shone bright as ‘Sparkling Stars’.
