Muthumali Priyadharshani of CSCT Campus and Chanul Dulshan of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda were adjudged the Best Players in the Girls and Boys categories and were awarded the Maheepala Herath Challenge Trophies at the All Island Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2018 held recently.

All age group winners with guests and officials

Priyadharshani was adjudged the Best Player for her excellent performance in winning the Under-21 Girls Singles and Open Women’s Singles events while Dulshan received the coveted award for winning the Under 18 Boys’ Singles event and finishing as runner-up in the Under-15 Boys Singles event.

The match of the tournament was the Open Men’s Singles clash between National Champion Udaya Ranasinghe from the hill capital and Supuna Warusavithana of Ananda College, Colombo. Warusavithana gave the national champion some anxious moments before going down fighting to a 3-4 defeat.
